Getting the most of getting high

It should be no surprise by now that I’m in favor of getting high in order to find yourself and find happiness.  However, in order to do this, you need to make the most out of your experience.  Below are some tips I’ve picked up that may help you as well.

  • Make a list of questions you want answered.  While being high may not make you more honest, pondering these questions may help you realize new things about yourself.  Some suggestions:
    • Who am I?
    • What is most important to me?
    • What kinds of things am I most interested in doing with my life?
    • What are my talents?  What am I good at?
    • What do I most want to change about myself?
  • Make sure you have links or movies or music immediately available that make you feel happy.  Even in an otherwise good high, you can experience moments of paranoia or times when sad or negative thoughts start to spiral and overwhelm your mind.  Having something that you can switch to that makes you happy can be a blessing.  I keep a list of My Little Pony episodes open in my browser, ready to be viewed, for those moments.  It’s important that you be able to access these easily, as it can be difficult to break out of the negative thoughts and choose something while high.
  • Avoid situations and sensations that make you feel bad.  During one of my first times being high, before I discovered how to be happy, I was browsing videos to find things that amused me.  I found videos of people being startled and screaming as a result.  These screams startled me each time they occurred because I was high.  I watched a few, enjoying the surprise, before I realized that the videos were also affecting me m another way.  They scared me and made me feel anxious.  Once I realized that, I stop watching them and made a note to myself never to do so again.
  • Stock up on fluids.  You want to stay hydrated, particularly if you do any talking or if you sing along with your music.
  • Eat a small meal before you get high.
  • Once you’ve reached a stage where your physical sensations are heightened, stop and concentrate on breathing slowly and deeply.  Focus your attention on the breath.  A pattern of inhale, hold, exhale seems to work best, but do what feels best to you.
  • Above all, be kind to yourself.  Do the things that feel good and stay away from the ones that make you feel bad.
